Position Summary:

 The Strategic Regional Retail Manager reports to the Director of Retail Sales. The role will require the development of strong partnerships with all levels of an organization to be successful, both internally within our business and externally with our Retail customers. The Strategic Regional Retail Manager will engage regularly with our internal strategic Retail Sales team on key strategies, and then work to ensure the Retailer’s MET/MST executes those strategies in their respective markets. Additionally, the Strategic Regional Retail Manager will have the responsibility of owning key Stores/Retailers across the region. This role is a key sales position with the opportunity to deliver step change sales growth for James Hardie.

 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Capable of identifying and removing bottlenecks to enable fluidity in business transactions. 
  • Support Retailers working with James Hardie by eliminating barriers to conversion & creating a positive customer experience.
  • Build momentum in the market by working with MET/MST to provide in store environments converting demand to amplify the trend in the market.
  • Manages and holds own self accountable to a priority based schedule with prospective customers. 
  • Able to make good choices on where and where not to allocate resources and time.
  • Develop a solid understanding of company products, customer programs and benefits, and our market development sales approach to effectively engage with prospective customers.
  • Capable of analyzing and interpreting data to drive decision making.
  • Able to host, lead and present in front of large audiences.
  • Passion for their company and personal success to meet or exceed goals.
  • This position is responsible for Comprehensive knowledge of strategic Retail customers, MET/MST Regional Leadership, Regional Field Leadership, and products & promotions, supporting a strategic plan for positive quarterly and annual sales growth of territory.
  • Drive Regions sales growth, profitability, and share gain.
    • Execute strategic plan by effectively utilizing marketing programs, leveraging MET/MST resources, product training, event marketing, merchandising, and outside sales activities.
    • Regularly call on Stores to ensure MET/MST accountability in assigned area.
    • Drive sell-through across all James Hardie brands focusing on revenue and units.
    • Effectively manage budgets to drive profitability.
    • Communicate opportunities, issues, and trends to management and marketing.
        

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must live in Colorado, Oregon, or Washington
  • 3+ years of sales experience in a high touch sales environment.
  • Proven track record of developing, engaging, and recognizing talent and delivering results.
  • Effective performance management skills.
  • Ability to communicate and execute strategies effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to be resilient and adaptable in all situations.
  • Ability to work with and understand complex channels and distribution models.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental financial concepts.
  • Travel 60% overnight travel.
  • Valid driver’s license & Bachelors’ Degree Required.
