The Machine Operator is an integral member of the James Hardie Building Products team, responsible for working with machinery, raw materials and other employees to create high quality building material fiber cement products. The best Operators are self-motivated and will strive to understand complex processes and procedures. They will challenge themselves and others for continuous improvement and high product quality. Successful Operators embrace forward thinking and are willing to work on multiple assignments throughout the shift.

The Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting product and making adjustments or changes as necessary to maintain quality.

  • Measures, records and adjusts machine to maintain product consistency and appearance within specifications.
  • Constantly monitors the appearance of the product and takes the necessary corrective actions to maintain it within specifications.
  • Properly fills out all records and reports, in accordance with applicable work instructions.

​​​We’re Looking for Someone Who Has:

  • Stable work history
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in a manufacturing or with large machinery /equipment
  • Ability to demonstrate past successes related to a manufacturing or similar production or support crew environment
  • Understanding of Safety policies to drive best in class to drive a Zero harm culture
  • Ability to continuously stand, walk, bend, climb stairs/ladders 
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently, 50 pounds occasionally
