Plant HVAC Technician

Position Description:

  • HVAC Technician will be responsible for the day to day reliability of plant HVAC units and chillers.
  • Accountability for implementing and maintaining preventative maintenance plans on plant HVAC units and chiller system
  • Track and document refrigerant usage by unit and provide annual usage report
  • Respond to trouble calls during shift and after hours as needed.
  • Coordinate daily activities with planners, production leads, and craftsmen
  • Coordinate and lead contractors in larger repair/replace projects.
  • Identify, prioritize, and coordinate work generated from BE   
  • Work closely with supervisor, planner, and storeroom to ensure spare parts are available and documented correctly
  • Assist in optimizing and creating preventative maintenance documentation and lead implementation of PM’s
  • Develop long term asset strategy for maintaining, replacing, upgrading HVAC units and chillers.


  • Promote a Zero Harm safety culture through actions and accountability;
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Universal EPA Certification
  • Virginia HVAC Masters license
  • Working experience with voltages ranging from 24 to 480V
  • Familiarity with wide range of equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience making repair and replace decisions
  • Demonstrate willingness to invest in tools used in service of HVAC equipment
  • Demonstrate willingness to invest time in training seminars and classes
  • Work from extension and step ladder
  • Operate and work from scissor lift and genie lift in safe manor
  • Ability to learn and utilize CMMS system(BE)
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
