Finance Manager

Reporting to the Senior Manager – North America Commercial Finance, the  Finance Manager is responsible for forward-looking partnership to drive achievement of goals and objectives of the North America James Hardie Building Products Commercial business. This role will serve as a key business partner and finance expert on various strategic initiatives, with a focus on integrated sales and operations planning (S&OP) and delivering profitable mix. This highly cross-functional role is responsible for driving delivery of business objectives and establishing best practices and spans both project-related and ongoing operational goals. The individual will be expected to be the finance subject matter expert on implementation of new solutions to enable reporting and analytics around granular profitability and connection between demand and supply planning.  Successful candidates will offer a strategic perspecive, project management, and a collaborative working style among a high caliber team. This candidate has a growth mindset, and brings fresh thinking to identify/address current and future market trends.


Position Responsibilities
Lead critical financial reporting projects to drive business performance (70%) 
•    Project management for integrated S&OP and profitability reporting and analytics
•    Financial leadership, partnering with North America Commercial Finance team to manage projects around system integration and solution identification
•    Lead change management and adoption of new solutions throughout the company to ensure one source of truth and cross-functional alignment 
•    Support the preparation of materials for leadership discussions to evaluate initiatives through implementation 
•    Partner across commercial and operational leadership to ensure delivery of business objectives in the short- and long-term and connection from strategy to execution

 

Ad Hoc Analysis and Partnership (30%)
•    Contribute to other aspects of Commercial Finance around product and segment management, as directed by team leadership
•    Ensure the quality and accuracy of data used by the business including leveraging internal subject matter experts, to develop projections and models

•    Proven ability to synthesize complex data into meaningful insights. Articulates views in a clear and concise manner, and can share clear insights and observations that will manifest into business decisions and thoughtful recommendations to customers. 
•    Confidence and ability to use data, sometimes incomplete, to influence others in the organization and outline what the business should do differently 
•    Ability to proactively manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, change oriented environment, yet flexible enough to adapt to changes

 

Education/Experience

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Strategy or another quantitiative discipline, with advanced degree preferred 
•    8+ years of applicable and progressive experience 
•    Proven results in change management and continuous improvement environment
•    Expert level in Excel and Powerpoint
•    Experience in successful project execution for system transformation, SAP IBP preferred
•    Building products, manufacturing or industrial sector experience preferred
