Sr. Manager Communications- Sales Operations

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Sr. Communication Manager is responsible for driving both internal sales communication as well as sales communication externally with our B2B customers. They will have ownership over ensuring that our sales organization is operating as efficiently and effectively as possible in partnership with our customers and end-users. In addition, this individual will identify opportunities for centralization and creation of communications standards and best practices.  This role will have two direct reports (Communication Specialist and Event Specialist).

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to create a strategic and well-rounded communications plan that targets a variety of audiences through a partnership that enables understanding of what drives
  • Drive alignment with sales, marketing and product teams to maximize awareness of market opportunities and Industry Relations
  • Oversee all Field Sales (National, Regional and Leadership) and Customer Engagement events
  • Support the Sales Leadership team in preparation/review of metrics, territory/regional business plans, customer presentations, updates to the executive team, etc.
  • Work closely with Sales Training on the development and roll-out of educational materials, sales reports and new systems.
  • Identify and effectively communicate key updates, trends, products and data-driven insights that clearly define our differentiated value within the category and related vertical trades.
  • Identify and secure relevant thought leadership opportunities for key company spokespeople and create compelling presentations that demonstrates James Hardie’s leadership in the industry.
  • Lead special sales related projects as necessary.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications/Public Relations, Journalism, Business or Marketing
  • 8+ years in industry relations with proven success in managing industry relations programs and working with executive leadership teams
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and ability to prioritize work within a complex, fast-paced environment
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills, with proven ability to produce engaging, thoughtful and relevant content for press releases and bylines
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and align teams to work towards common goals
  • Knowledge of the building products industry a plus
