As the Cisco Webex/Telepresence Sr. Engineer, based out of Chicago, IL, be the subject matter expert for the WebEx, Skype for Business, Teams, Mitel and Cisco Telepresence environment for James Hardie globally. You'll be paramount in establishing the effective, efficient and seamless global communication technology necessary to drive our company to the next level of success!

  • Responsible for evaluating, designing, documenting, installing, implementing, testing, maintaining, operating, removing and upgrading, and modifying VTC systems.
  • Troubleshooting maintaining and reinstalling/configuring VTC equipment, WebEx, Skype for Business, Microsoft Teams and Mitel phone system.
  • Provide hands-on assistance involving troubleshooting and diagnostic support for all related systems, equipment failures or service issues.
  • Resolve system operational problems by troubleshooting and performing fault isolation.
  • Perform routine performance testing to ensure VTC and other conference room equipment, AV interfaces, and multimedia equipment operate at optimal performance and capacity.
  • Provide hands on training to users.
  • Provide operations, engineering and technical support.
  • Configure, test, implement and maintain telecommunications capabilities, including wide area and local area networks as they relate to VTC and WebEx
  • Perform operations and support activities with minimal supervision
  • Evaluate network performance, resolve problems and recommend improvements as they relate to VTC and WebEx.
  • Work with hardware and software diagnostic tools
  • Maintain practical and workable solutions to clients’ technical and business problems
  • Work on multiple phases of complex projects independently
  • Coordinate activities with superiors and client personnel to resolve technical and/or business issues
  • Responsible for recommending and executing on A/V and network projects

 

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in audio/visual and VTC solutions
  • Minimum 5 years supporting executive level leadership
  • Minimum 2 years of WebEx experience and Cisco Telepresence
  • Advanced knowledge of Cisco Telepresence​ 
  • 5+ years of experience in networking support/fundamentals
  • Collaborative, customer-focused and able to create visible value.​​   

 

Desired qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
  • Experience with Call Manager
  • Experience supporting Cisco networking equipment. (Routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, telepresence)
  • Experience supporting wireless networks.
  • Experience working with Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
  • Experience with DNS and DHCP.
  • Basic Knowledge of Active Directory
  • CCNA certification a plus.
  • LAN / WAN experience required
  • Experience with VMware virtualization a plus
