Position Summary


The Product Manager is responsible for managing the North American (US and Canada) Interiors business with a holistic P&L approach. This strategic yet hands-on role manages day-to-day product line performance as well as focusing on step change profitable growth. The role will report directly to the VP of Product Management within the Strategic Marketing Team.  The role interfaces directly with multiple functions within the business including Segments, Sales, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, R&D and Finance.  This role will have direct reports based on project needs. Travel is expected to be 25-40%.


Position Responsibilities


  • Determine the strategic direction for the business to deliver profitable growth using frameworks like 3C’s/4P’s & business performance analysis to identify opportunities and gaps.  Determine key initiatives for short, medium and long term horizons
  • Deliver strategic and tactical game plans to deliver multi-year market share & profitability goals that account for regional business environment variances
  • Ensure flawless execution of game plans through management systems that align cross-functional stakeholders
  • Full P&L ownership requires analytical approach to market sizing, sales volume, manufacturing costs, supply chain & pricing
  • Responsible for Product Development process from business case to execution
  • Directly support key account teams by using point-of-sale analytics and capturing Voice of Customer insights
  • Ensure value communication is aligned with targeted customer needs via clear positioning & marketing programs.
  • Ensure product-customer fit by collaborating with segment teams and other stakeholders in the value chain such as big boxes, dealers, distributors and installers
  • Leads development and usage of management and sales reporting tools to track progress against goals and identify strategy shifts
  • Works with various cross-functional partners including: R&D, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, HR and Product Management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • Strategy development using appropriate frameworks and analysis of business/market trends. Selects amongst competing strategies understanding trade-offs. 
  • Ability to proactively manage multiple projects in a fast paced, change oriented environment, yet flexible to adapt to changes
  • Strong bias for results and can work independently as well as interact effectively across functions and at all levels
  • Strong P&L management ability - interpret and analyze financial statements, apply cost structures, P/C/V/ & ROI models. Uses analysis to make decisions and direct the business. Ability to coach/teach others on Financial Acumen.
  • Strong understanding around manufacturing and supply chain with a past record of growth with a product line.
  • Leads the organization by influencing at peer levels plus SMT and GMT levels. Impacts prioritization of projects, resource allocation based on opportunity or gap identification.  
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills fit for various internal & external audiences
  • Demonstrated advanced skills with the standard features of various personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 40%






  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field
  • MBA required
  • 5+  years of relevant experience in product, segment or business management
  • Proven P&L management experience with analytical approach using multiple data sources
  • Experience with varying go to market channel strategies: direct, two-step, etc. Big box retailer experience preferred
  • Proven large scale project management experience in a cross-functional environment
  • Experience working closely with manufacturing & R&D to drive product development process
  • B2B plus B2C marketing experience
  • Sales or business development experience
