Position Summary

 

The Project Management Officer, IT manages key company IT projects and the IT Change Management process. Project management responsibilities include the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project. Prepare reports for upper management regarding status of projects. Change management responsibilities include the coordination, change communication planning and execution and change closure.

The PMO, IT will work directly with James Hardie business unit leaders to ensure deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. They will coordinate with other departments and third parties to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible and fulfill James Hardie’s needs, business objectives and the global IT Strategy.

 

Position Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Assist IT Project Managers in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan with IT Project Managers to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques in order to ensure continuous improvement processes are followed
  • Report and escalate to upper management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Assists and coaches IT Project Managers in creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation
  • Meet with James Hardie business leaders to understand current and upcoming demand and to clarify specific requirements of each project
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Create and maintain tools and processes needed to perform the above duties
  • Serve as IT Project Manager on special, large scope IT projects.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Position Requirements

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Required:

 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus

 

 

Education/Experience:

Required:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or IT related field
  • Minimum of 7 years proven working experience with project management methodologies
  • Minimum of 5 years running large, complex IT projects
  • Minimum of 10 years IT experience in Infrastructure and/or Applications
