HR Shared Services Analyst

Position Summary


The Shared Services Analyst reports directly to the Sr. Manager, HR Shared Services & Payroll who in turn reports directly to the VP, Total Rewards and HR Operations. This position does not have direct reports.


This position works within the HR Shared Service Center (HRSS) as part of a dedicated team of HR Professionals serving James Hardie HR and employees in North America. The Shared Service Analyst is responsible for providing exceptional customer service via phone and email to support Field/Corporate HR Practitioners within the organization as well as North American employees. The HR Shared Services Analyst is responsible for acting as the primary point of contact for inquiries regarding payrolls, benefits, general HR System, and leave related questions while demonstrating a high level of support and customer service.


Position Responsibilities


  • Provide ADP/SuccessFactors related transactional support and minor troubleshooting using predefined SOPs
  • Provide reporting and analysis support, audit and compliance support
  • Work with HRBPs to ensure smooth hand-off and transition of various HR Processes
  • Support organizational changes including acquisitions, restructuring, RIFs etc. with a specific focus on system related transaction processing and gathering data for mass changes, including position changes, and providing project and related preparation support to HRBPs
  • Provide escalated support for HRBPs with regard to business specific policy and process questions
  • Provide support for annual HR processes including but not limited to open enrollment, annual bonus payment, and annual performance reviews.
  • Assist in the design of SOPs, HRBP Training Materials, and KB articles related to the HR Shared Services function
  • Ensure SOPs are being followed and non-compliant issues are escalated as appropriate
  • Keep abreast of changes in local, state and federal laws; changes in company policy and/or contract language as they pertain to the HRSS function
  • Manage & Coordinate queries via case management tool and create HR tickets

Position Requirements



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Relevant HR Operations Experience
  • Ability to work independently and adopt a proactive approach to resolving complex issues
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to perform under pressure in meeting tight deadlines
  • Functional knowledge of Human Resource business processes including payroll, benefits, compensation, and employee relations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel with tact and diplomacy
  • Excellent ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with ADP Enterprise / SAP SuccessFactors / Kronos Workforce Central






  • Minimum of 3 years working in HR Operations related capacity
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in HR related field preferred
  • SHRM/CHRI/APA designations strongly preferred
