Finance Manager - Lean Manufacturing

The Finance Leader - Lean is responsible for having a forward-looking partnership to drive the achievement of the financial commitments via the Lean Initiative underway in James Hardie Building Products.  You will be responsible for driving the linkage between operational improvements and financial results within manufacturing operations, tracking results and providing insights for required actions to achieve stated results.  You will also play a key role in the expansion of Lean processes into other business areas, providing inputs on targets and impacts to profitability.  The individual will be an integral member of the North America Lean team and will report directly to the Finance Director - James Hardie North America Operations & Supply Chain.


Position Responsibilities

Lead finance business partnership that delivers predictable results with insights to achieve targeted results

  • Drive development of appropriate financial measures linked to operational results
  • Standardize processes to increase efficiencies and eliminate variation
  • Implement forward-looking analytics to drive operational actions
  • Partner with plant finance and operations teams to set appropriate targets to drive continuous improvement
  • Proactively look for improvement opportunities that simplify and enhance key trends

Develop standard approach to quantify insights from Lean deep-dives into business issues

  • Develop appropriate financial metrics that reflect results from targeted improvements
  • Facilitate relevant data collection that drives team to actionable insights
  • Actively participate in Lean events to provide best practice sharing and repeatability

Partner with North America Lean team for deployment of measurable Lean concepts into non-manufacturing organizations

  • Develop appropriate financial metrics that reflect targeted improvements
  • Replicate best practices throughout business to accelerate results focus

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years overall experience including 4+ years manufacturing finance with Lean finance experience preferred
  • 3+ years of applicable costing and analytical experience
  • Building, manufacturing or industrial sector experience (preferred).
