Buyer - Commercial & Marketing

Position Summary


James Hardie Building Products, Inc. has an opportunity for an experienced Buyer who will be predominately responsible supporting the purchasing needs of our Commercial and Marketing teams.  This position will report to the Central Finance Purchasing Manager.


Position Responsibilities

  • Creation, confirmation, and update of Purchase Orders for Commercial, Marketing, and Miscellaneous items.
  • Daily review of open Purchase Orders.
  • Daily review of invoicing issues and actively managing items in our Vendor Invoice Management systems.
  • Monthly review of Goods Receipts to Invoice Receipts (GRIR) and active resolution of aging reconciling items.
  • Verify receipts on blankets/lease Purchase Orders
  • Daily approval of Purchase order report on released PO’s
  • Provide thorough analysis of selected scenarios to allow for a well-informed positive outcome.
  • Ad-hoc projects and analysis as needed

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business-related field or Associate's degree with experience in lieu of 4 year degree
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a purchasing role, preferably in a corporate environment


Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with business partnering with project leads and/or budget owners.
  • Experience with the SAP Purchasing Modules
