Position Summary 

The Lead Financial Business Systems Analyst works closely with the Finance Department to design, develop, test, and implement appropriate system configuration within the Financial (FI) module of SAP to effectively meet business requirements. The incumbent will also work in collaboration with business members and development staff to identify functional specifications for all FI developments. The incumbent will combine FI production support activities for business as well as new project implementation. The Lead Financial Business Systems Analyst (Lead FI Analyst) reports directly to the SAP Project Manager.

 Position <br><br><b>RESPONSIBILITIES:</b> 

Takes a lead role in developing appropriate SAP FI solutions for new implementation projects by:
Executing and testing appropriate configuration related to SAP FI module;
&bull; Writing clear, complete functional specifications for the development team, including support for Business Intelligence (BI) analytics development for FI related developments; and
&bull; Contributing to and leading FI team members through all implementation efforts, including design, build, test, documentation, and go-live activities.
Provides configuration and FI knowledge support to other Functional Business Analysts by:
&bull; Collaborating with other Functional Analysts to develop effective SAP solutions; and
&bull; Ensuring FI integration with other modules is effectively tested during Integration Testing.
Works closely with Finance to recommend business process changes based on knowledge of SAP and best business practices by:
&bull; Researching and identifying appropriate SAP solutions to business requirements; and
&bull; Using past experiences and knowledge of GAAP to recommend appropriate business process solutions to new business requirements.
Provides ongoing Business As Usual (BAU) support for financial applications by:
&bull; Becoming completely familiar with existing SAP FI design;
&bull; Analyzing problem tickets and change requests created by business users and determining appropriate solutions within a reasonable timeframe per service level agreements; and
&bull; Updating configuration as needed and working with developers to modify programs and ensuring adequate end user testing and acceptance of all FI changes.

 Quantitative Dimensions 

Decision Making:

The FI Business Systems Analyst regularly participates in the decision making process of finance related system design decisions. Based on knowledge of finance principles, best practices, and SAP capabilities, the incumbent recommends appropriate solutions to business issues.

Supervisory/Lead Responsibilities:
While having no direct supervisory responsibilities, strong leadership skills are required to effectively lead work groups, consisting of various combinations of business users, developers, other Business Systems Analysts, and consultants through project activity. In problem solving activities the incumbent provides direction to others in identifying root causes and developing appropriate solutions.

 Scope of Position: 

The incumbent will spend a majority of his / her time performing analysis, troubleshooting, and developing effective solutions to business requirements, receiving some input from the SAP Project Manager and Business Systems Director. This includes SAP FI configuration, SAP-related finance business process redesign, input, review, and initial approval of functional specifications for all finance related developments, and effective testing of all of these items.

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
 Required:  
&bull; Demonstrated knowledge of SAP FI configuration.
&bull; Demonstrated knowledge of FI integration with Controlling (CO) and other modules.
&bull; Strong analytical, problem solving and multi-tasking skills.
&bull; Strong financial business acumen and understanding of GAAP to establish credibility and trust with all levels of the organization.
&bull; Demonstrated understanding of all aspects of a full life cycle systems implementation.
&bull; Ability to translate functional requirements into technical terms relevant to SAP to coordinate and assist with detailed technical design.
&bull; Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals.
&bull; Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration expertise with significant experience in taking a leadership role in team or project activities.
&bull; Proven ability to research and assess potential SAP solutions in support of new business requirements.
&bull; Demonstrated ability to analyze and provide effective problem solving of BAU requirements, assessing whether standard functionality can be used and identifying reasonable custom solutions where needed.
&bull; Understanding full life cycle Accelerated SAP (ASAP) or other development methodology.
&bull; Demonstrated ability to remain effective and productive in a fast-paced and changing environment.
&bull; Ability and willingness to travel on occasion.

 <br><br><b>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE</b>:  
&bull; Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Business, or Finance.
&bull; 4 or more years of SAP FI configuration experience, including GL, AP, AR, and AM (SAP 5.0 preferred).
&bull; 2 or more years of full life cycle SAP implementation experience - must include Blueprinting (requirements gathering, design, and functional specifications), realization (SAP configuration functional & integration testing), final preparation (conversion & training support), and go-live (start up and initial post go-live support).
&bull; Experience in SAP Financial Accounting Integration points with CO is required and is desired for other key modules (Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), Production and Planning (PP), and Warehouse Management (WM)).
&bull; 2 or more years experience in production support environment preferred."
