		<title>Production Planner Job (Chicago, IL, US)</title>
		<description><![CDATA[<b>Title:</b> Production Planner
<br><br><b>Job Description:</b> "The Productino Planner is accountable for the production plans for multiple manufacturing facilities using Manugistic's Constrained Production Planning (CPP) Module. In this position, you would deliver a high level of service and the lowest landed cost planning solution for all products made at each plant location. You would also play a key role between customer service and manufacturing by ensuring an effective flow of communication as to product shipment and service requests. The Production Planner reports to the Logistics Manager.

 Position <br><br><b>RESPONSIBILITIES:</b> 
  Provides production plans for multiple manufacturing facilities along with other planners using a Manugistics planning platform;
  Serves as a key interface between customer service and manufacturing for assigned facilities;
  Maintains Demand Supply Matching (DSM) for assigned facilities;
  Serves as a functional backup for other planning facilities and or responsibilities at the Logistics Manager's discretion by providing support and necessary follow through as needed while documenting certain activities as directed.


 Position Requirements 

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
 Required: 

  Demonstrated ability to identify and understand issues or problems using data and use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing an appropriate solution.
  Demonstrated advanced analytical skills with the various features of spreadsheet and basic software (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other proprietary software).
  Knowledge of production planning best practice methodologies for multiple manufacturing facilities.
  Ability to collaborate effectively with plant personnel to develop action plans in reaction to product/production issues while still ensuring a high-level of customer service.
  Knowledge of supply chain, transportation, and logistics.
  Ability to drive adherence to planning best practices and procedures.
  Superior interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively.
  Demonstrated ability to build strategic working relationships while holding others and self accountable for deliverables.
  Demonstrated ability to act independently upon information and make decisions that achieve optimal results.
  Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload while paying attention to detail.
  Demonstrated ability to function as a strong team player.


 <br><br><b>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE</b>
Required: 

  Bachelor's Degree in Business, Science, Operations, Engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
  3 or more years of experience in an analytical position with at least one year in planning.
  Direct supply chain experience.
  Manugistics planning experience (preferred).
  Material Replenishment Program (MRP), deployment, constrained production planning (CPP) and/or replenishment solutions experience (preferred)."

The Customer Operations Inventory Specialist is a unique role that blends developing customer relationships with high level of service through order management and timely follow-up, along with the utilization of analytical skills in managing inventory at multiple facilities using proven replenishment techniques. The Customer Operations Inventory Specialist provides support to and coordinates information provided by other functions within the Company including Sales, Transportation Management, Logistics, Credit, and Production Planning. Occasionally, the Customer Operations Inventory Specialist provides functional backup to other areas of Customer Operations. The role reports to the US Network Lead Analyst and provides opportunities for future growth into other Customer Operations roles.

 Position <br><br><b>RESPONSIBILITIES:</b> 

  Provides exceptional service, including building and maintaining effective internal and external customer relationships;
  Effectively and accurately manages customer VMI orders of all Company products along with managing JH run reload facilities; and
  Supports the department in meeting its objectives.

  Demonstrated advanced analytical skills with the various features of spreadsheets, databases and reporting software to manipulate large volumes of data using functions like Pivot tables and other advanced Excel functions.
  Demonstrated ability to develop and modify reporting and analytical tools using innovative techniques without merely refreshing data.
  Demonstrated ability to identify and understand issues or problems using data and use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing an appropriate solution.
  Ability to challenge information and a passion to exhaustively uncover robust facts and data which improve insights and the quality of the final decision.
  Superior interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with the ability to provide conclusions and recommendations based on analysis.
  Customer value driven mentality. Ability to effectively work with customers to problem solve and generate solutions and in a fast paced environment.
  Ability to drive adherence to planning best practices and procedures.
  Capable of effectively manage time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
