		<title>Corporate Cost Accountant Job (Mission Viejo, CA, US)</title>

As a member of the Accounting team, the Corporate Cost Accountant, reports into the US Divisional Controller and is responsible for the aggregated planning, analyzing, and reporting of the profitability of the plant's manufacturing operations through detailed reports of efficiencies related to the plant's production and other key financial information for management review. The incumbent will be based in the Mission Viejo corporate office and will be a key liaison between the Plant Finance personnel and key leadership within the Organization. The Corporate Cost Accountant will be expected to consolidate Plant operational data into timely, accurate, and actionable information to key stakeholders in the Organization.

The incumbent is also responsible for coordinating and conducting cycle counts and annual physical counts within the plant, guiding the cost analysis process, and building and controlling the plant's annual budget.

 Position <br><br><b>RESPONSIBILITIES:</b> 

Plans, analyzes, and communicates the profitability of the plant's manufacturing operations to produce informative, detailed reports outlining efficiencies, plant production, and key financial information for management review by: (65%)

&bull; Independently collecting and analyzing operational data;
&bull; Gathering data from key shop floor staff on production, inventory control, maintenance, etc;
&bull; Examining the plant's production costs, gain/loss, and month-end closing data;
&bull; Gaining understanding, explaining, and reconciling manufacturing financial variances for the plant;
&bull; Identifying resources and solutions to control or eliminate gaps to plan and/or plant performance goals.

Guides cost analysis process by implementing, refining, and reporting cost account processes that highlight operational opportunities and initiates projects that provide effective solutions by: (30%)

&bull; Support ongoing and adhoc consolidated reporting to the Organization;
&bull; Providing trends and forecasts and recommending future action;
&bull; Continually identifying, designing, and implementing best Corporate Cost Accountant practices and process improvements and explaining processes and techniques to all operational finance personnel;
&bull; Interacting with all levels of the Plant and Organization to help drive change and gain commitment and buy-in for the new processes; and
&bull; Collaborating with business partners in the implementation of SAP to better control operational processes.


Supports the annual budget for all Manufacturing locations: (5%)

&bull; Gathering the past year's data and forecasting budget for the new year;
&bull; Determining additional labor, cost of labor, total cost/square footage of the plant; and
&bull; Communicating budget for the year and placing controls to maintain this number.
&bull; Generating a consolidated budget from all manufacturing locations.

Decision Making:
The Corporate Cost Accountant makes decisions based on trends identified in the operational data and offers his/her opinion and solutions to management. The incumbent has the responsibility to recommend changes and areas of improvement where appropriate, backed by the data analysis from the Company's systems. The incumbent must use his/her experiences to confidently make decisions that influence a large portion of the business. The data analyzed is very important to the success of the division, making accuracy paramount.

Supervisory/Lead Responsibilities:
The Corporate Cost Accountant does not have direct reports, however, he/she will be responsible for training others on best practices, changes to current processes, cycle counting, etc. The incumbent will have a high level of responsibility to report outcomes of his/her analysis and recommendations on a frequent basis to senior management. The incumbent must possess a high-level of communication skill with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

Scope of Position:
The Corporate Cost Accountant spends the majority of his/her time performing analysis, problem solving, and generating new solutions/ideas. The incumbent is required to continuously think of new and improved methods for process improvement to better control variance and forecast budget.

 <br><br><b>EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE</b>:
 Required:  
&bull; Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Accounting or Finance Degree preferred).
&bull; 3 or more years of manufacturing and cost accounting experience (manufacturing environment preferred).
&bull; 3 or more years of experience in standard costing, material, labor and overhead variance analysis.
&bull; Demonstrated experience with ERP systems software (SAP preferred).

The Tax Accountant reports directly into the Tax Manager who is directly responsible to the US CFO. The primary role is to assist the Tax Manager in preparing tax returns and payments for various legal entities.


 Position <br><br><b>RESPONSIBILITIES:</b> 

&bull; Prepare and file local and state sales tax returns (35%)
&bull; Prepare and file income tax work papers and schedules (25%)
&bull; Assist and support various projects including but not limited to system and process research and improvements, tax audits, and tax compliance(20%)
&bull; Prepare and file property tax returns and payments (15%)
&bull; Research, resolve, and respond to notices from regulatory authorities such as IRS, FTB, SBE (5%)

 Decision Making:  
The Tax Accountant will need to apply basic decision making skills for this role and will have strong guidance from the Tax Manager, however they will need to have strong potential to grow and develop in these skills to ensure success in this and future roles.
Supervisory/ Lead Responsibilities:
This role is entry level and not a lead role, however the Tax Accountant must have the ability and willingness to develop in this area to be considered for promotion.

 Scope of Position: 
The Tax Accountant spends the majority of his/her time preparing and filing various types of tax returns within given deadlines be it weekly, monthly or quarterly. This person requires the ability to work under reasonable stress and at an acceptable pace to meet these criteria. The person should possess strong research skills and be efficient in using the internet and other sources for this purpose. The Tax Accountant will be expected to have the ability and potential to make recommendations for improving existing procedures and will need to have strong communication skills both written and verbal. The Tax Accountant will also need to have the potential to develop a high level of technical skills in relation to tax laws and procedures. Continuous learning is required and the Tax Accountant must be willing to attend seminars and tax events as and when required.
