Title: SAP SD Business Systems Analyst/Configuration
Job Description: "Position Summary The Sales and Distribution Business Systems Analyst reports to the Senior Business Systems Analyst and works closely with Sales, Distribution and Customer Service to design, develop, test, and implement appropriate configuration within the Sales and Distribution (SD) module of SAP to effectively meet business requirements. This position also works in collaboration with business members and development staff to identify functional specifications for all SD developments. This role will combine SD production support activities for business as well as new project implementation. Position
RESPONSIBILITIES: Takes a lead role in developing appropriate SAP SD solutions for new implementation projects by: (40%) • Executing and testing appropriate configuration related to SAP SD module; • Writing clear, complete functional specifications for the development team, including support for BI analytics and development for SD related developments; and • Contributing to and leading SD team members through all implementation efforts, including design, build, test, documentation, and go-live activities. Provides ongoing Business as Usual (BAU) support for Sales and Distribution applications by: (35%) • Becoming completely familiar with existing SAP SD design and enhancements; • Analyzing problem tickets and change requests and determining appropriate solutions; and • Updating configuration as needed and working with developers to modify programs and ensuring adequate end user testing and acceptance of all SD changes. Provides configuration and SD knowledge support to other Functional Business Analysts by: (15%) • Collaborating with other Functional Analysts to develop effective SAP solutions; and • Ensuring SD integration with other modules is effectively tested during integration testing. Works closely with the Sales, Customer Service and Logistics Departments to recommend business process changes based on knowledge of SAP and best business practices by: (10%) • Researching and identifying appropriate SAP solutions to business requirements; and • Using past experiences and knowledge of sales, service and distribution to recommend appropriate business process solutions to new business requirements. Quantitative Dimensions Decision Making: The SD Business Analyst regularly participates in the decision making process of sales, customer service and logistics related system design decisions. Based on knowledge of SD principles, best practices, and SAP capabilities, the incumbent recommends appropriate solutions to business issues. Supervisory/Lead Responsibilities: While having no direct supervisory responsibilities, strong leadership skills are required to effectively lead work groups, consisting of various combinations of business users, developers, other Business Systems Analysts, and consultants, through project activity. In problem solving activities this person is expected to provide direction to others in identifying root causes and developing appropriate solutions. Scope of Position: The SD Business Analyst spends a majority of his / her time performing analysis, troubleshooting, and developing effective solutions to business requirements, receiving input from the Lead SAP SD Business Analyst and Business Systems Director. This includes SAP SD configuration, SAP-related SD business process redesign, input, review, and initial approval of functional specifications for all Sales and Distribution related developments, and effective testing of all of these items. Position Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Required: • Demonstrated knowledge of SAP SD configuration. • Demonstrated knowledge of SD integration with FI and other modules. • Strong analytical, problem solving and multi-tasking skills. • Strong financial business acumen and understanding of Sales, Logistics and Customer Operations to establish credibility and trust with all levels of the organization. • Demonstrated understanding of all aspects of a full life cycle implementation. • Ability to translate functional requirements into technical terms relevant to SAP to coordinate and assist with detailed technical design. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals. • Teamwork / collaboration expertise with significant experience in taking a leadership role in team / project activities. • Proven ability to research and assess potential SAP solutions in support of new business requirements. • Demonstrated ability to analyze and provide effective problem solving of Business as Usual requirements, assessing whether standard functionality can be used and identifying reasonable custom solutions where needed. • Understanding of full life cycle ASAP or other development methodology. • Demonstrated ability to remain effective and productive in a fast-paced and changing environment. • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Required: • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Business, Finance, Sales, Marketing or related field. • 4 or more years of SAP SD configuration experience, including Order Management, Pricing, EDI, Contracts, Billing / Credit, Consignment / VMI, Shipping & Transportation, Sales Territory Realignment (ECC 5.0 preferred). • 2 or more years of full life-cycle implementations of SAP which must include requirements gathering, blueprinting, functional testing, and SAP configuration. • 2 or more years experience in production support environment. • Additional experience with Manugistics SCM software, transportation processing, customer service, EDI/IDOC, ABAP, Query, BW/BI, MM/WM and CRM preferred.
