Job Description: "Senior Human Resources Business Partner James Hardie currently has an opportunity for a Senior Human Resources Business Partner in our Chicago, IL office. This position supports our Regional office in Chicago, IL as well as our customer service center and our field sales organization in a dynamic and fast paced business environment. You will be responsible for managing, implementing and administering all aspects of HR including employee relations, retention, training and development, compensation and change management initiatives that support the business in achieving its goals. In addition, you will counsel and coach managers on best practices, policies, regulations and other sensitive HR issues. This position reports to the director of Human Resources in Mission Viejo, CA. RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensures policy and legal compliance and application of salary administration, performance review process,
BENEFITS:, etc by: • Conducting New Hire Orientation to ensure that all new employees are adequately introduced and informed of all pertinent Company information, policies, procedures, and guidelines, and then accurately processing all completed paperwork, as required; • Providing all new employees with information and forms necessary for enrollment in the Company's benefit program within the first days of employment; and • Providing superior employee administrative support such as accurate, organized, and up-to-date employee files, responding to employment-related inquires, and ensuring that all employees receive their correct paychecks on time. Managing Employee Relations Process by: •Investigating, reporting, counseling and documenting any employee relations issues including, but not limited to, sexual harassment, insubordination, attendance, and other potential legal or company policies; •Managing the employee performance process and time lines; •Carrying out the termination process as need including documentation and exit interviews; and •Serving as the point of contact to internal employees for human relations issues and concerns The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing. QUALIFICATIONS: may be required and/or assigned as necessary. Requirements: • The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree with 7-10 years of relevant Human Resources experience preferably in a corporate or sales environment. • Strong emphasis on employee relations with a solid knowledge of Human Resources practices and employment law • Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time • Demonstrated ability to partner and build rapport with all levels of employees • Strong analytical skills and ability to tie results to key business metrics • In depth knowledge of State and Federal labor laws is required • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to work effectively under pressure and deal with multiple priorities • Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult and sensitive issues
